Our Patients

Don

Don is 42 years old, a loving husband, and father of a 9 year old daughter and 6 year old son. Don recently relapsed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), and needs to find a matching donor to help him beat his diagnosis.

Because tissue types are inherited, patients are most likely to match donors of the same ethnic background, which means Don’s match will have to come from another Korean. Of 20 million registered donors in the US, only 0.5% are Korean. Don needs your help.

Estella Kim

Estella is 36 years old, a loving mom and wife. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She has a rare and complicated form that is Philadelphia positive. She had a haploidentical bone marrow transplant in July of 2019 with her brother as a donor. Her recovery was long and difficult. In January of 2020, Estella found out difficult news that she had relapsed and her bone marrow transplant had failed.

Because tissue types are inherited, patients are most likely to match donors of the same ethnic background, which means Don’s match will have to come from another Korean. Of 20 million registered donors in the US, only 0.5% are Korean. Estella needs your help.
